about

Another song of mine with 'movements' (sections), I have found this adventuresome and rewarding to create with my associates.

Basically, the idea is common to many people who wish they could have a chance to live their lives over. In this instance, the advice is sung that if one 'reviews' what they have done with their lifes thus far, they may get a 'preview' of what may be forthcoming in their life, and thereby learn to adjust.

To my ears, the intro to the song sounds like it is just coming from the end of a previous song and is consequently more of a 'segue' than an 'intro'.

We hear verses, chorus's , as well as several bridges in this arrangement.

The one I am most pleased about is the adventuresome section that has both the bass instruments and the bass voices singing what would ususually be heard as a the root of the chords. However, as I decided to do, different inverted (vocal) chords an entire tonal step above the bass, are sung. It's inversion, and that's nothing that's never been done ..... but I've never noticed it done with voices and especially in a Pop genre. It creates a sense of tension, searching for a 'release' .....which it does attain by going into yet another section more heavily concentrated on a root chord.

Take me back to zero
and let me live my life again.

lyrics

Every now and then or once in a while
you've got to look back on your life
'cause knowing the how and when
can bring up a smile
or it can cut you down like a knife.

You'll never feel the same
unless you start your life all over again
'cause when you review your life
you can preview what lies ahead.
Now, when you review your life
you can preview what lies ahead.
That's why I've said,
won't you

Take, take , take me back to zero
Take, take, take me back to zero
and let me live my life again.

They say that life is like a VCR
you need to rewind all the tape
and if you 'pause' and take a look where you are
you'll see your future all takin' shape.

Your future's in the past
if you've learned your history at last.
'cause when you review your life
you can preview what lies ahead.
Yeah, when you review your life
you will preview what lies ahead.

That's why I've said won't you,

Take, take, take me back to zero
Take , take, take me back to zero
and let me live my life again.

Take, take, take me back to zero
Take , take, take me back to zero
and let me live my life again.

So won't you take me back to zero ?
Won't you take me away
to that 'right is right' in black and white of yesterday ?
where the shades of grey are washed away by what they'd say...
all those celluloid heroes really take me back to zero.

Take me back
Take me back
Take me back
Take me back (Take me back)

Oooo.....
Bop, bop, bop, bop, bop, bop, bop, bop
Bop, bop, bop, bop, bop
Bop, bop, bop, bop, bop, bop, bop, bop
Bop, bop, bop, bop, bop

(Take me back to zero.
Won't you take me back again ?)

Bop, bop, bop, bop, bop, bop, bop, bop
Bop, bop, bop, bop, bop
Bop, bop, bop, bop, bop, bop, bop, bop
Bop, bop, bop, bop, bop

(Instrumental break)

They say that life is like a VCR
you need to rewind all the tape
and if you 'pause' and take a look where you are
you'll see your future all takin' shape.

Your future's in the past
if you've learned your history at last.
'cause when you review your life
you can preview what lies ahead.
Yeah, when you review your life
you will preview what lies ahead.

That's why I've said won't you

Take, take, take me back to zero
Take , take, take me back to zero
and let me live my life again

Take, take, take me back to zero
Take, take, take me back to zero
and let me live my life a-
let me live my life a-
let me live my life again !
